content

Romarei has psychic abilities that her adoptive mother Prang uses for the benefit of those who pay for them. Sometimes she foresees accidents for the paying people - so she can warn her friend Lorenz Ophoven of a disaster even after a vision of an elevator crash. Her skills also come to the ears of Sir Boris Olinzoff, who "buys" Romarei from her mother, promises her a luxurious life and wants to use her skills to gain competitive advantages. Olinzoff was one of the protagonists in Romarei's vision. At first Romarei seems to have drawn a trump card: She lives carefree and financially secure with Olinzoff in the Orient and can discover some oil fields for him that he wants to develop. Over time, however, she found out that Olinzoff has strange friends, that she uses hypnosis to prevent any criticism and that she is very unpopular in the village. When Olinzoff is absent, she is kidnapped by the "friends". Her lover Lorenzo, who operates a ship's steamer, still has to deal with a shady blonde there, but can finally come to Romarei's aid, kill the older men who are longing for her and free them from Olinzoff's hands.

criticism

"Stupid, trivial cinema, the story of which is bobbing in the wake of the" Liane "films that were successful in the 50s."

“With this film, the producer Gero Wecker managed to bring a material into the cinemas that was explosive and is in the tradition of crime and adventure films like that of Fritz Lang. "Romarei" has an exciting plot, good actors and, above all, wonderful backdrops, which, due to the fact that this is a color film, come into their own. "
