Hermann Falkenhagen (born March 27, 1828 in Gust near Köslin ; born Ernst Hermann Albert Loewedon Falkenhagen ; † March 18, 1902 in Diessenhofen ( Switzerland )) was a professional soldier , administrative officer , mayor of Trarbach (1862–1869), Meisenheim (1869–1872 ) and Sankt Johann (1872–1888).

Life

On June 9, 1860, he married his wife Elisabeth born in Bad Sobernheim . Reidenbach. After his life had taken him from Pomerania to the Palatinate , the Rhineland and finally to the Saar , he resigned from all offices for health reasons. He retired to Bad Sobernheim and finally to Switzerland, where he died in 1902.

Military career

At the age of only 17, Falkenhagen enlisted on October 1, 1845 as a professional soldier in the 8th Rhenish Artillery Regiment , a forerunner of the Rhenish Foot Artillery Regiment No. 8 founded in 1864 during the wars of liberation . He worked there until October 1, 1857, most recently as a chief fireman and teacher at an artillery ballistics school.

Public offices

At the age of 29 he switched to civil service. On October 6, 1857 Falkenhagen was a candidate until January 4, 1858 in the government of Koblenz . On April 1, 1858, he was appointed police commissioner there . From May 1, 1862 to November 1, 1869 he was elected mayor in Trarbach, and from November 1, 1869 to July 1, 1872 he was mayor of Meisenheim. On March 1, 1872, the Sankt Johann city council elected Falkenhagen mayor, on June 11, 1872 the election was confirmed by the government in Trier . Inauguration was on July 2, 1872, he was re-elected in 1884 and resigned from office on March 14, 1888.
