European Automotive Telecom Alliance

The English European Automotive Telecom Alliance (EATA) (German European Alliance Communication and Automobility ) is an interest group of mobile phone providers , hardware manufacturers , motor vehicle manufacturers and automotive suppliers , with the aim of developing intelligent transport systems with the participation of many interested companies , as well as these developments and the spread of such Promote systems.

history

On September 30, 2016, the creation of the first European Automotive Telecom Alliance was announced at a round table on connected and autonomous driving . The founders were the Association des Constructeurs Européens d'Automobiles , European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ecta), European Telecommunications Network Operators' Association (etno), GSA and GSM Association .

This round table was initiated and led by Günther H. Oettinger , then Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society

The project plan for the work of EATA was presented on February 27, 2017 . This project plan envisages step 1 driving in a convoy between 2017 and 2021, step 2 automatic parking between 2018 and 2022 and step 3 automated driving starting in 2019.
