Eurostar 3000
The Eurostar 3000 is a satellite bus of the Eurostar family of Airbus Defense and Space for communication satellites. It is a further development of the Eurostar 2000 and was first used on the Eutelsat W3A satellite. In addition, it is installed in the satellites from Intelsat , Inmarsat , Eutelsat , Arabsat, and some individual systems.
At the end of March 2017, 31 satellites based on Eurostar 3000 were in space, the launch of three satellites equipped with the Eurostar EOR is planned for 2017. Three Inmarsat satellites with the Eurostar 3000GM were launched into space in 2005 and 2008. Nine satellites have the Eurostar 3000S on board. In addition, there is a South Korean satellite in space, COMS1 , whose AstroBus-G is based on the Eurostar 3000S.
The Eurostar 3000 has two ADE-4 units, which are connected to the central computer of the satellite via a MIL-STD-1553 system bus and are responsible for the operation of most of the actuators and telemetry channels. ADE stands for "Actuator Drive Electronics"; Its tasks are to generate the required on-board voltages, telemetry , align the solar panels, control the stepper motors including their position measurements, switch the drives on and off, control the thrust nozzle, close the valves and the apogee motor , which, depending on the type of drive, consists of a liquid or a Ion propulsion can exist. If the satellite is equipped with an ion apogee motor, the ADE unit also takes over the fine temperature control of the ion drive and the pressure regulation of the xenon tank . An ADE unit consists of six modular circuit boards, most of the electronic components are made using SMD technology .
