EACEA

The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency ( EACEA ; English E ducation, A udiovisual and C ulture E xecutive A gency ) is an agency of the European Union based in Brussels . The agency started work in January 2006. It is subject to the control of the European Commission and reports regularly on the implementation of the programs entrusted to it.

The EACEA is an executive agency. These occupy a special position among the EU agencies. They are set up by the European Commission and are tasked with managing certain programs. They are not set up permanently, but only for a limited period of time and have the same rank as the Directorate General of the European Commission of the European Commission. In contrast to the other EU agencies, they have to be located in Brussels or Luxembourg.

The legal basis for this executive agency is, on the one hand, EU Council Regulation 58/2003 of December 19, 2002 and Commission Decision 2005/56 / EC of January 14, 2005.

  • " Europe for Citizens (2007-2013)": Program for the promotion and development of measures and institutions that serve to develop active European citizenship
