The Expressway 251 is an expressway in South Korea . The highway is a connection between Expressway 25 at Nonsan and Expressway 1 near the city of Daejeon in the middle of South Korea. The highway is 54 kilometers long.

Street description

South of Nonsan, Expressway 251 begins at a cross with Expressway 25. Expressway 251 runs in a north-easterly direction through flat plains with some mountains. In the south of Daejeon, the Expressway 300 is crossed, which forms the southern ring of Daejeon. Expressway 251 forms the western ring of Daejeon. The motorway has 2 × 2 lanes and runs along the urban area. Expressway 30 from Gongju ends on the west side of Daejeon . After a curve to the east, the highway ends in the north of the city and merges into Expressway 1, the highway from Seoul to Busan .

history

Construction of what was then Expressway 25 began on April 15, 1970, as a single lane with a branch to Expressway 1, which was then opened. This part was opened to traffic on December 30, 1970. On April 25, 1983, construction work began on the second lane between Daejeon and Nonsan. This second lane was opened to traffic on December 26, 1985. On August 25, 2001, the part from Nonsan to Daejeon was renumbered as Expressway 251.

In 2008, 31,000 vehicles drove daily on the section near Nonsan and 51,000 vehicles near Daejeon.
