Fabian Conrad (born April 16, 1985 ) is a German duathlete and triathlete .

Career

Fabian Conrad grew up in Roth and has been practicing triathlon since 1997. At the age of 15, he was accepted into the Bavarian youth squad. He has been trained by Matthias Fritsch since 2004 . He initially started with shorter triathlon distances.

In 2007 he was able to win his age group M18-24 at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Clearwater (Florida, USA) with a twentieth place in the overall standings.

In 2008 he started for the first time over the Ironman distance at Challenge Roth , but did not reach the goal. He then finished his first long-distance triathlon in 2009 at Challenge Roth with a time of 8:33:00 hours. Conrad was 22nd of the overall field and as the fastest among the participants under 25 years of age, German champion in his age group. In 2010 Fabian Conrad started with a professional license.

In 2012 Conrad won the TriStar Germany in Worms over the distance of 1 km swimming, 100 km cycling and 10 km running.

Winner Race Across America 2012

With the twenty.six team , Conrad won one of the toughest cycling races in the world, the Race Across America, in June 2012 with a time of 5 days, 18 hours and 55 minutes . Together with Florian Lechner, Lasse Ibert and Tobias Matulla, they formed the youngest winning team in the 4-person ranking in the history of the event. This competition begins on the west coast of the USA in Oceanside, California and ends on the east coast in Annapolis, Maryland . In the team classification, at least one driver must always be on the track; the other team members can relax in a support vehicle during this time. Unlike stage competitions such as the Tour de France, the Race Across America is an uninterrupted competition, which means that the race continues uninterrupted even at night. Over the distance of 4817 km, the total average of the twenty.six team was 34.68 km / h.

Until 2013 he was a member of the Erdinger alcohol-free perspective team . At the Ironman 70.3 Pocono Mountains , where swimming was canceled due to strong currents, he came third. He was also twelfth at the Ironman Florida .

He has been part of the Arndt team since 2013 and has been an amateur again since 2014. Together with Martin Pühler he offers training programs today.
