Feodor Wilhelm Anton Haenel , von Haenel since 1868 (born November 2, 1812 in Liegnitz , † October 15, 1900 in Naumburg (Saale) ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Feodor was a son of the Prussian Rittmeister a. D. and stable master at the Knight's Academy in Liegnitz Gustav Heinrich Haenel (1781–1867) and his wife Amalie, née Schmysingk called von Korff (1789–1868).

Military career

After his education at the Knight Academy in his hometown Haenel occurred on July 29 in 1829 as a gunner in the 6th Artillery Brigade of the Prussian army one. For further training, he graduated from the United Artillery and Engineering School from October 1830 to July 1832 and in the meantime advanced to Portepeefähnrich . He was promoted to second lieutenant on December 7, 1832, in the 8th Artillery Brigade . From there he came to the 5th Artillery Brigade on January 2, 1834 and was also assigned to the fortress artillery in Mainz . In 1841/46 Haenel served as a department adjutant and rose to prime lieutenant in mid-March 1848 . During the suppression of the Polish uprising in the province of Posen , he took part in the battle in Xions in 1848.

From June 22, 1852 to June 13, 1859 he was captain and battery chief . He was then transferred to the 6th Artillery Regiment as a major and aggregated into the association on July 25, 1859 . This was followed on October 23, 1860 by his appointment as commander of the mounted detachment in the East Prussian Artillery Brigade No. 1 in Königsberg . In this position he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on June 25, 1864 , before Haenel was given command of the Magdeburg Fortress Artillery Regiment No. 4 on December 12, 1865 . On September 20, 1866, he was promoted to colonel and on January 14, 1868, he was commander of the Magdeburg Field Artillery Regiment No. 4. In recognition of his services , King Wilhelm I raised him to the hereditary Prussian nobility on July 31, 1868 . On May 13, 1868, he was put up for disposition with a pension and authorization to wear his regimental uniform.

For the duration of the mobilization on the occasion of the war against France , Haenel was appointed as a stage inspector of the IX. Army Corps and received in this capacity on March 9, 1871 the character of major general. On November 3, 1881, he was his farewell approved with board.

Haenel married Amalie Fischer (1816–1895) in Poznan on January 2, 1845 . The couple had several children:
