Heinrich Ernst Ludwig Ferdinand von Heinemann (born October 23, 1818 in Bettmar , † November 29, 1881 in Wolfenbüttel ) was a German schoolboy, poet and politician.

Ferdinand was the son of the ducal district court director Friedrich Joachim von Heinemann (1770-1854) and his wife Charlotte, nee Meinders (1785-1854). He had several known brothers:

  • Hermann (1812–1871), finance advisor and entomologist in Braunschweig ⚭ Theodore Gerstell
  • Alexander (1813–1884), Prussian major general
  • Adolf (1820–1906), Prussian major general
  • Otto (1824–1904), German librarian and historian ⚭ Helene von Brandenstein (1827–1902)

Live and act

His father was transferred to Helmstedt a few months after his birth . Ferdinand attended grammar school there and from Easter 1838 studied theology at the University of Jena , among others with the church historian Karl von Hase , from 1839 to 1841 in Berlin , especially with August Neander and Wilhelm Vatke . During his studies he became a member of the fraternity in Jena in 1838 and of the fraternity reading and wreath club in Berlin in 1839 . On April 29, 1842 he passed the "preliminary" theological examination in Wolfenbüttel , was a private tutor in Suderode near Hornburg until 1846 , then a substitute teacher at the grammar school in Helmstedt, passed the main theological exam on May 12, 1848 and was from Michaelis 1848 to 1850 college graduate in the seminary in Wolfenbüttel, but decided to become a teacher.

In 1850 von Heinemann took over the position of a collaborator and main teacher at the Progymnasium in Braunschweig , from 1858 he also taught Greek, German and history at the Obergymnasium. In 1864 he was transferred to the grammar school in Helmstedt as the "first senior teacher" , and from 1870 he was director of the grammar school in Wolfenbüttel until his death .

From 1861 to 1866 and 1875 to 1881 he was a member of the Braunschweig State Assembly and from 1867 to 1869 a member of the North German Reichstag in the National Liberal Party . Due to illness, he was unable to take up his seat in the Reichstag , which he had reached in 1881 . From 1872 until his death in 1881 he was also a member of the regional synod of the Brunswick regional church .

He married Elisabeth von Ribbentropp (1808–1886) on November 5, 1850. The couple remain childless.

Ferdinand von Heinemann published a collection of poems in 1845 and later several dramas:

  • Robespierre. 1850.
  • Friesenhof. 1859.
  • The armourer of Braunschweig. 1861 (published only in 1876)
