Florian Mader (born September 14, 1982 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian football player on the position of midfielder .
Career
Before starting his professional career, Mader played for the youth teams of SV Schmirn and SV Matrei . Later he moved to the BNZ Tirol and became Austrian champion with the U-18. For the 2001/02 season he switched to regional division WSG Wattens . He also remained loyal to the Wadden when they entered into a syndicate with FC Wacker Tirol in the 2002/03 season. With Wattens / Wacker he was promoted to the second-class first division that season . After the dissolution of the syndicate after the 2002/03 season, Mader continued to play at Wacker Tirol. Together with his teammates, he rose again at the end of the season and from the following season played in the country's top division, the Austrian Bundesliga. Mader made his Bundesliga debut on July 13, 2004 in a 1-0 home win over the Grazer AK , when he came on for Jerzy Brzęczek in the 67th minute . Mader scored his first Bundesliga goal on November 6, 2004 in the second minute of stoppage time in a 3-1 away defeat against SK Sturm Graz . In 2005 he turned his back on Innsbruck and played for a year at SCR Altach , where he again made it to the top Austrian league. In 2006 he returned to Tyrol and played there until he was relegated in 2008 .
In the summer break before the 2008/09 season he signed a contract with SV Ried. In 2010/11 he won the Austrian Cup with SV Ried and moved to FK Austria Wien after the start of the 2011/2012 season . At Austria he was Austrian champion in 2012/13.
For the 2015/16 season Mader moved to SKN St. Pölten . In 2016 he was promoted to the Bundesliga with SKN St. Pölten .
In January 2017 he returned to WSG Wattens, which is now second class, and received a contract valid until June 2018. With WSG Wattens, he rose to the Bundesliga as a second division champion in 2019, after which the club was renamed WSG Tirol. After 48 second division and nine Bundesliga games for Wattener, he ended his career in February 2020 during the current 2019/20 season.
