Christoph Saurer (born January 22, 1986 in Oberwart ) is an Austrian football player .
Career
society
Saurer came to the Frank-Stronach Academy in Hollabrunn as a teenager and graduated in 2003/04. After playing in the youth of Vienna Austria , he joined the FK Austria Wien Amateurs in 2003 , where he played 56 games in the first division . In 2007 he played four times in the Bundesliga for Austria's first team. After falling out of favor with Austria, he moved to LASK Linz at the beginning of the 2007/08 season . He scored his first Bundesliga goal on August 5, 2007 against SV Ried , which was also the winning goal in the game. In the first season in Linz Saurer was able to assert himself as a regular player and played 33 of 36 possible games.
On June 2, 2010, SK Rapid Wien announced the midfielder's commitment. Saurer was awarded a 3-year contract with an option for an additional year. In the winter break 2011/2012 Saurer, who could not prevail at Rapid, was awarded to SC Wiener Neustadt , where he was to replace Tomas Šimkovič , who had recently switched to FK Austria Wien .
After less than 40 games with the Austrian record champions, his contract was terminated. Saurer then moved to FC Wacker Innsbruck .
After playing again at LASK Linz and SC Wiener Neustadt, he moved to the regional division SC Mannsdorf for the 2016/17 season . In January 2017 he moved to the national division SC Pinkafeld .
National team
Internationally, Saurer played nine times for the U-21 and 14 times for the U-19 team in his country. He finished third in the 2003 U-17 European Football Championship with Austria.
When he was first called up for the national team by team boss Karel Brückner , he made his international debut in a friendly against Sweden on February 11, 2009 .
