The Brilon / Hochsauerland airfield is a special airfield and is located about seven kilometers east of the city center and about two kilometers south of the Brilon district of Thülen . The operator is LSV-Brilon e. V., which has more than 200 members.
history
Construction of the airfield began in 1960. As early as September 30, 1961, Brilon's mayor Julius Drescher opened the square as a passenger on the first flight. Around 1980 the airfield was further expanded. So were u. a. a separate motor and glider trajectory were created.
A violent thunderstorm in 2000 destroyed all the Eternit hall roofs .

The airfield includes a restaurant / canteen, a campsite on the brook of Infidelity , a children's playground and various holiday apartments.
Sightseeing flights, among other things, start from this airfield. Other events are the Whitsun festival and flight camps lasting several weeks.
