The length of the airfield main runway is 820 meters, while the glider towing route is around 1000 meters long. They are both grass slopes with the orientation 07/25. The traffic pattern runs south, as the northern airspace is reserved for parachutists. In the aeronautical radio , the airfield has the frequency 122.600 MHz. AVGAS , MOGAS and Jet A-1 are available at the petrol station .

Flight operations

Two clubs are represented at the site. The Flugsportgemeinschaft Soest eV operates motor and glider flights , while the Parachute Sports Club Soest-Bad Sassendorf eV practices parachuting. Also here is the air service Sauerland a gyrocopter - flight school available.

Flights are usually flown on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (occasionally also on normal working days), provided that the weather permits, i.e. when the flight activity is not impaired by storms in the sense of gusts of wind, incessant rain, hail, fog, thunderstorms, etc. The gliding season runs regularly from late March / early April to late October / early November. Motor flight takes place all year round.

The small airfield is best known for its flight days, on which aerobatics and shows are performed by professional pilots and aerobatic pilots.
