Flynn , also O'Flynn , Flinn or Lynne , is an old Irish family name .

Origin and meaning

The Irish Clan O Flainn originally lived in the Munster area. The name is derived from the Gaelic flann and means something like "who looks fresh and rosy" or "the red-faced one". As a result of the strong emigration of Irish families overseas, the name is often found in Australia , Canada and the USA .
