Joseph Vincent Flynn (born September 2, 1883 in Brooklyn , New York , † February 6, 1940 ibid) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1915 and 1919 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Joseph Vincent Flynn attended public schools and Brooklyn Boys High School . He then graduated from City College of New York in 1904 and from Brooklyn Law School at St. Lawrence University in 1906 . He was admitted to the bar that same year and then began practicing in New York City. Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party . In the 1914 congressional election he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the third constituency of New York , where he succeeded Frank E. Wilson on March 4, 1915 . He was re-elected in 1918 . Since he on a run again in 1920 renounced, he left the after March 3, 1921 Congress of. He then returned to New York City as a lawyer. Flynn was a delegate to the Democratic State Conventions in 1925 and 1927 . He lived in Brooklyn until his death on February 6, 1940. His body was interred in Calvary Cemetery in Long Island City .
