George Joseph Hochbrueckner (born September 20, 1938 in Queens , New York ) is an American politician . Between 1987 and 1995 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In two and a half years George Joseph Hochbrueckner attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook , Hofstra University in Hempstead (New York), Franklin Pierce College in Rindge ( New Hampshire ) and California State University in Northridge ( California ). He then served in the US Navy between 1956 and 1959 . After his military service, he worked his way from a technician to an electrical engineer within five years through on-the-job training . He initially worked as an engineer and later as a researcher for Litton and Teledyne in California and Grumman in New York. Today he runs the consulting firm George J. Hochbrueckner & Associates , which was founded in Long Island and has an office in Washington DC.

Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party . He was a member of the New York State Assembly between 1975 and 1984 . In the congressional elections of 1984 he suffered a defeat. He was only elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the first constituency of New York in 1986 , where he succeeded William Carney on January 4, 1987 . He was re-elected three times in a row. On his fifth nomination in 1994 , he was defeated and withdrew from the after January 3, 1995 Congress of.

George Joseph Hochbrueckner has been married to his wife Carol since 1961, with whom he has four children. You lived in California between 1961 and 1968. Then they moved back to Long Island.
