Jacob Crocheron

Jacob Crocheron (born August 23, 1774 on Staten Island , New York Province, † December 27, 1849 in Richmond County , New York ) was an American politician . Between 1829 and 1831 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Jacob Crocheron went to agricultural activities and was 1802, 1811 and 1821 as sheriff in Richmond County. Politically, he belonged to the Jacksonian faction. In the congressional election of 1828 , Crocheron was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the second constituency of New York , where he succeeded John J. Wood on March 4, 1829 . Since he refused to run again in 1830, he left the Congress after March 3, 1831 . He died in Richmond County on December 27, 1849 and was buried in the Church of St. Andrew's cemetery. His brother was Congressman Henry Crocheron .
