Peter Denoyelles

Peter Denoyelles (* 1766 in Haverstraw , New York Province; † May 6, 1829 ibid) was an American politician . Between 1813 and 1815 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Peter Denoyelles grew up during the British colonial period and enjoyed a good education. Then he went to the manufacture of bricks. He was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1802 and 1803 . He held several local offices. Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Republican Party founded by Thomas Jefferson . In the congressional elections of 1812 Denoyelles was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third electoral district of New York , where he succeeded Pierre Van Cortlandt junior on March 4, 1813 . Since he on a run again in 1814 renounced, he left the after March 3, 1815 Congress of. Then he resumed his activity as a manufacturer of bricks. He died on May 6, 1829 in Haverstraw and was buried in Mount Repose Cemetery .
