John Joseph Fitzgerald (born March 10, 1872 in Brooklyn , New York City , † May 13, 1952 ) was an American politician .

Fitzgerald attended Manhattan College in New York City until 1891 and studied law at the New York Law School. He was accepted into the bar in 1893 and now practiced in New York City.

As a member of the Democrats, Fitzgerald was a delegate at their Democratic National Conventions from 1900 to 1928 . In addition, he was elected for his party in Congress and represented there from March 4, 1899 until his resignation on December 31, 1917, the state of New York in the House of Representatives of the United States . Fitzgerald began to practice again in his old profession. He was named Kings County District Judge in March 1932, with an election in November. Fitzgerald held this office until his retirement on December 31, 1942. He died in Brooklyn in 1952 and was buried in St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens .
