Valentine Efner

Valentine Efner (born May 5, 1776 in Blenheim Hill , New York Province, † November 20, 1865 ibid) was an American politician . Between 1835 and 1837 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Valentine Efner was born in Blenheim Hill near Blenheim during the War of Independence . He completed his preliminary studies. After that he worked in agriculture. He served as a major during the British-American War . In 1829 he was a member of the New York State Assembly . Politically, he belonged to the Jacksonian faction.

In the congressional elections of 1834 for the 24th Congress , Efner was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the eighth constituency of New York , where he succeeded John Adams and Aaron Vanderpoel , who previously together, on March 4, 1835 represented the eighth district of New York in the US House of Representatives. He retired from the after 3 March 1837 Congress of.

After his time at the congress he was back in agriculture. He died on November 20, 1865 in Blenheim Hill and was buried in the cemetery of the same name. At this point the civil war had ended for about four months.
