Isaac C. Delaplaine

Isaac Clason Delaplaine (born October 27, 1817 in New York City , † July 17, 1866 there ) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1861 and 1863 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Isaac Clason Delaplaine was raised in New York City about two and a half years after the end of the British-American War . He pursued an academic career. In 1834 he graduated from Columbia College (now Columbia University ) in New York City. He studied law . He was admitted to the bar around 1840 and then began practicing in New York City. Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party . In the congressional election of 1860 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the eighth constituency of New York , where he succeeded Horace F. Clark on March 4, 1861 . He retired from the after March 3, 1863 Congress of. He died on July 17, 1866 in New York City and was buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in the then still independent city of Brooklyn .
