Andrew Nicholas Petersen (born March 10, 1870 in Thisted , Denmark , † September 28, 1952 in East Rockaway , New York ) was an American politician . Between 1921 and 1923 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Andrew Nicholas Petersen was born during the reign of Christian IX. , King of Denmark, born at Thisted. The Petersen family immigrated in 1873 to the United States and settled in Boston ( Massachusetts down). In 1879 they moved to New York City , where he attended public schools. He did an apprenticeship as a model maker. Between 1900 and 1952 he was President of the Brooklyn Foundry Co. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party .

In the 1920 congressional elections for the 67th Congress , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the ninth constituency of New York , where he succeeded David J. O'Connell on March 4, 1921 . In 1922 he was defeated in his re-election bid and was eliminated from the after March 3, 1923 Congress of.

After his time in Congress, he went back to his previous business in Brooklyn. He died in East Rockaway on September 28, 1952 and was buried in Cypress Hills Abbey in Brooklyn.
