Charles Bodle

Charles Bodle (born 1787 in Poughkeepsie , New York , † October 31, 1835 in New York City ) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1833 and 1835 he represented the state of New York in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Charles Bodle was born at Poughkeepsie about four years after the War of Independence ended . He was a charioteer and justice of the peace. Bodle held several political offices in Bloomingburg . Politically, he belonged to the Jacksonian faction. In the 1832 congressional election for the 23rd Congress , Bodle was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the seventh constituency of New York , where he succeeded John C.
