Frank Suchland

Frank Suchland (born May 31, 1962 in Kassel ) is a German musician , reciter , publisher , author and educator .

Life

Frank Suchland passed his Abitur in Bückeburg and then studied music and German for teaching at elementary and secondary schools in Hanover . After passing the second state examination , he started teaching in 1991 and worked as a teacher and vice-principal at various schools in Lower Saxony. He has been the head of a primary school since February 2014.

Artistic work

Frank Suchland began to write his own chansons, poems and short stories at a young age. He completed over 1000 concerts, readings and lectures in Germany, published more than 20 recordings and worked as a composer, performer and author with various artists of all genres. In 1990 he was awarded the Hanns Seidel Foundation's sponsorship award for young songwriters for his songs .

In 1989, Frank Suchland and good friends founded the independent label ContraPunkt , which he has been running alone since 1996. As a producer, he supervised many CD productions and gave lectures and seminars at universities, schools and other educational centers. Since 1992 Frank Suchland has been composing drama music for various theaters in Germany. His compositions were heard in more than 40 productions, most of which were in the field of children's theater .

Furthermore, Frank Suchland published two paperback books with poetry and prose in the small Göttingen literary publisher “Davids Drucke” as author and editor . He is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS) and is represented with journalistic or poetic contributions on the radio, in anthologies , educational media and magazines. He also works as a juror on various literary committees.

Since 1993 Frank Suchland has successfully held literary readings with texts by international authors. He either presents individual authors with biography and work or creates poetic theme evenings. In the summer of 2003, he expanded his ContraPunkt label to include a nationwide audio book publisher with distribution in Berlin.

Between 2006 and 2009 Frank Suchland produced an educational series of radio plays for children in the Schaumburg district , which is his home, and in 2015 wrote a small booklet with a new version of the most famous sagas from this region. Since 2018 he has published his own series of paperbacks with poetry by well-known authors, which he calls "poems for your pocket".

In addition, Frank Suchland is the artistic director of a series of cabarets in Bückeburg and regularly takes on moderation in the gala area, e.g. B. for political receptions or the UNICEF children's aid organization .
