Frankendorf is a settlement in the town of Tanna in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

Frankendorf is located north of the city center and with it about 10 km from Schleiz , in a basin of the Wettera , a tributary of the Saale , in the south- east Thuringian slate mountains . The landscape of this mountain range is diverse and interesting for visitors. The prerequisites for a high proportion of fine soil and a high humus content in the soil are valuable for farmers . The corridor north of the city is a little higher and more weather-affected. In terms of traffic, the citizens of the Tanna area have access to the federal highway 2 and the federal highway 9 .

history

Frankendorf was first mentioned on June 24, 1350. Frankendorf was and is an agriculturally oriented area. New farmers once shaped the place, then they went the way of agriculture in the GDR and found new ways of working on the land after reunification .
