Franz Eder (born March 20, 1942 in Munich ) is a German caricaturist , illustrator and quick draftsman .

Life

He learned cartography and graphics and then moved from Munich to Switzerland for ten years .

His first publications, cartoons and political caricatures , appeared in the Basler Nachrichten . From 1984 to 2000 he was a permanent contributor to the Swiss satirical magazine Nebelspalter . Drawings by Eder have also appeared in Playboy , Penthouse , FOCUS , Medical Tribune and Munich newspapers. He caricatured in around 70 TV programs and as a quick draftsman at trade fairs in Germany, Austria , Italy and Switzerland. Around 6000 quick portraits were created.

From 1980 to 1984 he was the first chairman of the “Society of Fine Artists Munich eV” for painters , draftsmen and sculptors . In 1993 Franz Eder designed the set for Werner Schlierf's "Wälsungen" in the theater on the left of the Isar in Munich , and in 2005 the Ochsenbraterei's jubilee mug at the Munich Oktoberfest .

In 1997 Eder donated 150 portraits of Munich city councilors and members of the state parliament to the Munich City Museum . In 2007 another donation of 186 portraits from the Munich artists' associations “Schwabinger Katakombe”, “Kaleidoskop” and Munich Tower Scribes as well as from presenters of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation to the Valentin-Karlstadt-Musäum , Munich.

In 2013 he was accepted into the community of Munich tower scribes .
