Location of the community-free area Frauenforst in the district of Kelheim

The Frauenforst is a community-free area in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim in Bavaria .

The 19.85 km² state forest borders on Nittendorf , Sinzing , Kelheim , Ihrlerstein and Painten . In the area there is an enclave that belongs to the district town of Kelheim.

Parts of the area are part of the fauna-flora-habitat area Frauenforst east of Ihrlerstein and west of Dürnstetten .

In the community-free area there are two geotopes designated by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU) .

  • Groundless pit NE of Ihrlerstein , geotope number: 273H002
  • Silicified layers of Reinhausen, NE of Kelheim , geotope number: 273A008
