Career
Career start and breakthrough in Sweden
Björck started playing football at Kållered SK in 1985 . From there he moved ten years later to the youth department of IFK Göteborg . Here he stayed until the end of 1997, before joining local rivals Västra Frölunda IF . Initially also active here in the youth sector, he was irregularly deployed in the Allsvenskan during the 2000 season alongside Robert Bengtsson-Bärkroth , Christian Lundström and Dime Jankulovski . After 13 first division games, he rose with the team at the end of the season as bottom of the table in the second division. In the Superettan he had finally established himself as a regular player and reached the third place in the table with the team at the end of the 2002 season , which entitled to participate in the relegation games . However, against IFK Göteborg he failed after a 1-1 draw and a 2-0 defeat.
Björck moved to Allsvenskan after missing promotion to AIK . At his new club he was also on the defensive under coach Richard Money's regular strength and just barely missed the European Cup with the team as fifth . Shortly after the start of the following season, Money had resigned after poor preparation and a bad start to the season and was inherited by Patrick Englund . However, the team around Niklas Sandberg , Håkan Svensson , Derek Boateng and Mats Rubarth slipped into the relegation area, from which they could not free themselves. On the penultimate match day, the club was already relegated to the Superettan.
After Björck had announced after the end of the season that he had no interest in playing second-rate again, he left the club in December 2004, initially on loan until the end of 2005 in the direction of Helsingborgs IF . Before the start of the season he injured himself and was only able to earn a regular place in the last third of the season. Finally, the club pulled the purchase option and tied him until 2007. Even in the following season, not permanently regular, he was in the starting lineup in twelve games at the beginning of the 2007 season . In the summer, the club sold him to league rivals IF Elfsborg six months before the end of the contract , after he had announced that he was looking for a new challenge. The club from Boras that a successor to the FC Toulouse exchanged Jon Jönsson was looking for, he signed a contract with four and a half year term.
Change abroad
Björck's stay at IF Elfsborg only lasted half a year. In January 2008 he followed an offer from the Danish club Esbjerg fB . At the side of Søren Rieks , Andreas Klarström , Martin Vingaard and Jesper Jørgensen , he immediately established himself as a regular in the Superliga under coach Troels Bech . In the summer of the year he reached the final of the national cup with the team, in which he formed the central defender duo with Kristian Flittie Onstad . Against Brøndby IF , however, the game was lost despite two goals from Rieks with a 2-3 defeat. In the league, he initially played with the club in the lower middle of the table. After Ove Pedersen took over the training in 2009, the team played in the front of the table for a long time in the 2009/10 season .
Björck left Denmark during the winter break and joined the Norwegian club Tromsø IL in early February . He was also a regular in the Tippeligaen and finished his first season with the new club in third place in the table.
