Friedrich Adrian von Borcke (born January 7, 1734 in Elvershagen , † January 13, 1806 in Stettin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and chief of infantry regiment No. 30 .

Life

Friedrich Adrian was the son of the Prussian captain Christian August Gottlob von Borcke (born August 14, 1696; † October 20, 1768) and his wife Elisabeth Eva Lydia (Lybica) Cordula, born von Wedel (1709–1742).

Military career

Borcke was employed on January 24, 1742 as a private corporal in the 2nd Battalion of the "Guard" of the Prussian Army . On June 24, 1756 he became an ensign. During the Seven Years' War he took part in the battles near Roßbach , Leuthen (wounded), Liegnitz and Torgau and in the siege of Prague . In the meantime he was on April 3, 1758 second lieutenant , and on January 19, 1761 First Lieutenant .

On February 4, 1762 he became staff captain , in 1771 he was transferred to Treuenbrietzen . In the same year - on August 7, 1771 - he became captain and company commander in the "von Rohr" grenadier battalion . He took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession and became a major on September 14, 1782 . On December 16, 1786, he received the order Pour le Mérite during the revue in Silesia . On April 23, 1787 he was promoted to battalion commander and in this capacity on September 11, 1790 to lieutenant colonel and on June 9, 1792 to colonel . During the First Coalition War , he joined the Rhine Army on May 25, 1794 with his battalion. On September 12, 1797 he was appointed Brigadier of the Magdeburg Fusilier Brigade, which earned him an additional salary of 2,180 thalers. On January 13, 1798, he became chief of the 30th Infantry Regiment. On June 3, 1798, he was promoted to major general and on May 20, 1805, he became lieutenant general before he died in 1806.

Borcke married Sophie Elisabeth Lüdicke on February 21, 1776 in Treuenbrietzen (December 1, 1753 † January 12, 1809 in Stettin). According to other sources from 1791, Friedrich Adrian von Borcke was not married at all and the king legitimized the illegitimate sons in 1788 with paternal noble names and coats of arms. The couple had the following children:

Memberships and social engagement

Friedrich Adrian von Borcke was a member of the Freemasons Association . He was admitted to the Diamant Lodge . Friedrich von Borcke organized lessons for soldiers and their children . On September 5, 1786 , King Friedrich Wilhelm II rejected his intention to build a school building for the battalion in Treuenbrietzen .
