Friedrich II of Parsberg (Regensburg)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedrich II. Von Parsberg († February 28, 1450 ) was the 41st Bishop of Regensburg and Prince-Bishop of the Regensburg Monastery from 1437 to 1450.

Friedrich II. Von Parsberg, like the eponymous Eichstätt Bishop Friedrich II. Von Parsberg (1237–1246), came from the Bavarian noble family of the von Parsbergs .

For Regensburg, the election of Frederick II was associated with an election surrender for the first time . Relationships between the bishop and the canons were regulated in it, and above all their rights to have a say and privileges were clearly outlined on important points. At the end of his life, however, Bishop Friedrich II disregarded these guidelines by far. The disputes raised escalated to such an extent that the bishop had canons arrested during the service and the differences of opinion about the tradition of parish donuts in Rome had to be resolved.

Pierer's Universal Lexikon from 1861 describes Friedrich II. As "generous and generous". brave prelate, who did not let the emperor offend his bishopric ”.
