Friedrich Wilhelm Freiherr Kellermeister von der Lund (born November 17, 1781 in Mühlhausen (Prussian Holland district) , † December 24, 1859 in Cologne ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and commander of Cologne .

Life

His parents were Franz Georg Karl Ludwig Cellar Master von der Lund (* 1749; † February 22, 1785) and his wife Charlotte Luise, née Vulpius (* 1752; † October 20, 1831).

Military career

Cellar master visited the cadet houses in Kulm and Berlin . On April 15, 1797 he was employed as a private corporal in the fusilier battalion "von Tilly" of the Prussian army . Until November 1799 cellar master advanced to secondary lieutenant and from 1804 acted as a battalion adjutant. During the Fourth Coalition War he fought at Wraclawek, Soldau, Marienwerder and Heilsberg . He was wounded in the battle near Braunsberg.

After the Peace of Tilsit , Kellermeister was transferred to the 1st West Prussian Infantry Regiment on January 22nd, 1808 and awarded the Pour le Mérite order on February 20th, 1808 . On May 27, 1811, he joined the normal infantry regiment as a prime lieutenant . There he rose on January 8, 1812 to staff captain and on April 12, 1813 to captain and company commander . During the Wars of Liberation , Kellermeister was wounded in the battle of Großgörschen and awarded the Order of St. Vladimir IV class. In the Battle of Bautzen , he suffered serious injuries from being shot through his mouth, tongue and throat. On May 19, 1813, he received the Iron Cross 2nd class for Großgörschen . Due to his serious injury, he was transferred to the 2nd Guards Regiment on June 19, 1813 as commander of the reserve battalion and promoted to major a year later . After Napoleon's return from his exile in Elba , the regiment was sent to France but did not take part in combat operations.

On February 16, 1816, Kellermeister was transferred to Cologne Fortress as second in command and in this position was promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 20, 1822 and to colonel on March 30, 1828 with a patent from April 6, 1828. On July 22, 1832 he received a bonus of 200 thalers and on March 30, 1836 the character of major general. At the end of March 1839 with a bonus of 500 thalers, Kellermeister was awarded the patent for his rank dated March 30, 1836 on June 11, 1839. On April 30, 1844, he was promoted to lieutenant general. With the statutory pension , Kellermeister received his farewell on April 6, 1847 . On the occasion of his 50th anniversary of service, he was awarded the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class. On July 16, 1847, he also received an allowance of 500 annually to his pension and on January 13, 1857, the crown for the order Pour le Mérite. He died in Cologne on December 24, 1859.
