Johann Friedrich von Eisenhart (born October 23, 1769 in Berlin ; † August 25, 1839 Ibid) was Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the 4th Uhlan Regiment . On February 18, 1835, he and his three sons received approval for the Eisenhart-Rothe naming association .

Life

origin

His parents were Johann Friedrich von Eisenhart (* January 25, 1733; † July 19, 1804) and his wife Johanna Dorothea de Witt (* August 5, 1741; † August 16, 1822). His father was a Prussian war councilor, Rendant of the General Artillery Treasury and Mr. auf Bernsdorf in the Regenwalde district , police director and city president of Berlin.

Military background

He first attended the Joachimsthaler Gymnasium and then the school at Kloster Berge . On July 17, 1787 he enrolled at the University of Halle , where he studied medicine. But he preferred to join the military and on May 1, 1788, he became a Junker in Hussar Regiment No. 3 . There he was cornet on February 12, 1790 and second lieutenant on November 12, 1792 . During the First Coalition War he fought in the Battle of Kaiserslautern and in the battles near St. Menehould, Gundersheim and Albersweiler. On April 8, 1793, in recognition of his bravery, he received an expektance for a position as a canon in Magdeburg .

After the war, he was promoted to Premier Lieutenant of the Hussar Regiment on July 7, 1803 . In the Fourth Coalition War he fought in the battles near Coburg, Waren, Schwerin, Ratzeburg and Lübeck. On May 6, 1807 he came to the staff of Lieutenant General von Blücher as staff assistant master . On May 11, 1807 he received the order Pour le Mérite . On October 20, 1808 he became a real Rittmeister . He was aggregated to the 1st Brandenburg Hussar Regiment on March 20, 1809 and also a squadron chief on July 12, 1809 . On March 19, 1812 he became major , but on October 16, 1812 he was transferred to the gendarmerie .

A little later, on October 27, 1812, he was appointed District Brigadier of the Gendarmerie in Poznan . In the run-up to the Wars of Liberation , he was appointed brigadier of the Neumark Landwehr on May 6, 1813 . During the war he fought in battle near Jähnsdorf. At Blankenfelde he acquired the Iron Cross 2nd class and was commended for the Battle of Dennewitz . He was at the sieges of Torgau , Wittenberg and Magdeburg, for which he received the Russian Order of St. Anne, 2nd class and the Order of Vladimir, 4th class . For the storm on Wittenberg, he also received the Iron Cross 1st class. On November 4, 1814 he was appointed brigadier of the cavalry of the 2nd Kurmärkische Landwehr Division, on August 6, 1815 he joined the Posen Landwehr as a brigadier, but on August 25, 1815 he was appointed commander of the 4th Uhlan Regiment. He rose to lieutenant colonel on October 3, 1815 and on March 30, 1819 to colonel with a patent from April 8, 1819. On July 18, 1825, he received the Prussian service cross . On May 27, 1831 he received his departure as major general with a pension of 1750 thalers. In addition, on February 4, 1832, he received permission to wear the general uniform, albeit without an active official badge. He died in Berlin on August 25, 1839. On August 27, 1839, he was transferred to Lietzow in the Regenwalde district and buried there.

family

He married on July 31, 1808 in Treptow at the Rega Beate Charlotte Helene von Rothe (* May 28, 1788; † August 18, 1846), a daughter of the major and gentleman in Neuenhagen Adolf Gotthilf von Rothe and Sophie Philippine Charlotte Ulrike von Miltitz . The couple had several children:
