Gaferut is an uninhabited island in the Federated States of Micronesia . It is located in the north of the Micronesian state of Yap .
geography
Gaferut is an elongated coral island surrounded by a dense coral reef . The reef surrounding the island is around one square kilometer, the island of Gaferut only takes up 0.13 km².
Gaferut is uninhabited. The last time the census was taken in 1970 was 53 inhabitants.
From an administrative point of view , Gaferut belongs to the municipality of Faraulep , with its seat on the atoll of the same name about 100 km in the southwest.
