Career
After graduating from Hightower High School in his hometown, Green studied at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth , for which he first played in the Mountain West Conference (MWC) of the NCAA from 2009 on in the college team called Horned Frogs . The Horned Frogs remained largely unsuccessful in this conference and achieved at least one invitation to the College Basketball Insider (CBI) tournament as the third postseason tournament of Division I of the NCAA in the last season of membership of the MWC with a balanced record in 2012 . Here you lost in the second game against the Beavers of Oregon State University . After switching to the even stronger Big 12 Conference , the Horned Frogs had a clearly negative balance in Greens last NCAA season.
After finishing his studies, Green played in Frisco for the Texas Legends , who played in the " Minor League " NBA Development League as the " farm team " of the Dallas Mavericks . However, Green did not make the season squad and at the end of the year he signed a contract with the second-rate Gunners from Canberra for the 2014 season of the Minor League South East Australian Basketball League . With just under 24 points and seven rebounds per game, he recommended himself for the Volters club from Kumamoto in the Japanese National Basketball League . For the 2015/16 basketball Bundesliga , he finally got a contract in Europe and played for the Walter Tigers from Tübingen in the top German division, where he played with Jesse Sanders , who was also from Houston . Green attracted attention through an unfortunate action at the away game at the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig , when he unintentionally stuffed a discarded free throw from an opponent into his own basket in the final second and created the "thoughtless self-dunk". This erratic action was noticed even in his home country and commented on on the popular TV show Shaqtin 'a Fool . But like his brother Gerald Green , who won the NBA All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest in 2007, Garlon, who had already participated in the NCAA Slam Dunk Contest in 2013, was also allowed to play in the basketball Bundesliga on the weekend of the BBL All-Star Game take part in the dunking contest and won it. In addition, in the actual All-Star Game represented the injured, two years older Augustine Rubit , who like Green comes from Houston and already played for the Walter Tigers in the preseason.
