Georg Leopold Gustav August Graf von Hake (born March 16, 1776 in Berlin ; † January 29, 1838 in Magdeburg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general , commandant of the Magdeburg Fortress and commanding general of the IV Army Corps . He was also the heir to Strecklin, Kuhweide and Frauenhagen.

Life

origin

He comes from the Staßfurt line of those of Ha (c) ke . His parents were Franz Wilhelm von Hake (1740–1789) and his wife Antoinette Juliane Charlotte, née von Lehwald (1748–1832). His father was a Prussian major in the regiment of the Gardes du Corps and heir to Penkun. His brother Count Bogislav August Heinrich (1772–1848) founded the line of the Counts von Hacke (House Penkun ). His brother Wilhelm Georg Werner (1785–1841) founded the line of the Counts von Hacke on Altranft . The Berlin city commander Hans Christoph Friedrich von Hacke was his grandfather.

Military career

Hake attended the knight academy in Brandenburg an der Havel and on March 6, 1789 joined the Regiment of the Guard du Corps of the Prussian Army as a standard junker . There he became a cornet on September 9, 1791 and took part in the campaign in Poland in 1794 . He was promoted to Rittmeister and company commander by the beginning of October 1806 . During the Fourth Coalition War , Hake fought near Auerstedt , Golgau and Königsberg . On January 11, 1807, he was promoted to major .

On December 4, 1811, Hake was appointed commander of the Brandenburg Cuirassier Regiment and on November 7, 1812 was accepted into the Order of St. John . During the wars of liberation he fought in the battles near Großgörschen , Bautzen , Dresden , Kulm , Leipzig , Laon , Paris and the battles near Görlitz, Bunzlau, Haynau , Liebertwolkwitz , Champaubert , Gue-a-Creme, Merry, Neuilly, Qulchy-la- Chatei, Sezanne, and Claye . For Großgörschen, Hake received the Iron Cross 2nd class and for Leipzig the Cross 1st class. On June 5, 1813 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and in September 1813 leader of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade, which was formed from the Silesian Cuirassier Regiment and the Silesian Uhlan Regiment . On December 8, 1813, he was promoted to colonel and in the following year brigade commander of the Roeder Corps' reserve cavalry. On March 18, 1815 he came to the VI as brigade chief of the reserve cavalry. Army Corps under Oppen. On May 7, 1815 he was then brigade commander in the VI. Army Corps and on September 24, 1815 he came to Magdeburg as brigade commander. On November 1, 1815, he was promoted to major general.

From March 20, 1820 to August 2, 1824, Hake was commander of the 7th Division . He was then commissioned to take on the business as commandant of Magdeburg. In 1825 he received the service cross . On March 30, 1827 he became lieutenant general and on September 4, 1830 he was appointed commanding general of the IV Army Corps. On March 30, 1832 he gave up command of the 7th Division, but remained in command of Magdeburg. On June 30, 1832, Hake received the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves, and at the same time was released from his position as leader of the General Command. He died on January 29, 1838 in Magdeburg.

In his assessment from 1810 it says: “Has a beautiful scientific and social education. Is eager to serve and an insightful, useful staff officer, of moral conduct ”.

family

Hake married Lisinka Countess Tauentzien von Wittenberg (1785-1859) on December 24, 1816, the daughter of General Tauentzien von Wittenberg . The couple had the following children:
