Gerd Danco

Gerd Danco (born February 22, 1938 in Simmern / Hunsrück ) is a former German politician of the SPD .

Danco's father was the mayor of Simmern for several years. After graduating from high school in his hometown in 1957, he began to study law in Frankfurt am Main and Mainz . After completing his studies, he worked as a legal advisor at the Maingas works for two years .

In 1968 Danco was elected mayor of the city of Kirn . He held the office until 1982. Then he moved to the right bank of the Rhine and officiated as district administrator for the Rhein-Lahn district . In August 1991 he took over the post of district president in the Koblenz district , which he held until it was dissolved at the end of 1999. He then went to Wiesbaden , where he worked in a law firm.

Danco now lives in Nassau , but is still connected to his home region, the Hunsrück. He was chairman of the Hunsrück Association and deputy chairman of the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park sponsoring association .
