William Barstow by Guenther
William Barstow Guenther , from 1881 by Guenther , (also Günther ; born March 8, 1815 in London , † September 13, 1892 in Thun ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer. He was the chief president in Poznan.
Life
He studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität , where he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After graduating, he took over the internal administration of the Kingdom of Prussia . In 1843 he became an unskilled worker in the government in Magdeburg and in 1849 a councilor in Stettin . From 1854 he was walking. Finance Councilor and member of the General Management of the Prussian Sea Trade Foundation . Günther became a walker in 1859. Oberfinanzrat appointed. Since 1863 he was Ministerialdirektor in the Prussian Ministry of Finance with the rank of real. Go Oberfinanzrat with the title of Excellence . Since 1867 he was an authorized representative to the Federal Council (German Empire) . In 1870 Günther was appointed President of Maritime Trade . Between 1873 and 1886 he was President of the Province of Poznan . Otto von Bismarck finally urged him to resign. Günther had been a member of the Prussian manor house since 1872 . On June 15, 1881, he was ennobled by Wilhelm I and raised to the Prussian nobility. Since 1886 he wore the Grand Commander's Cross of the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern .
With Klara Jebens (born June 26, 1828, † April 4, 1912) married, he was the father of the Silesian President Hans Lauchlan von Guenther and the daughter Helene (1856-1933), who married Alexander von Seydlitz-Kurzbach .
