Richard von Wentzel

Richard Adam von Wentzel (born April 13, 1850 in Jehserig , Niederlausitz , † May 28, 1916 in Kassel ) was a German administrative lawyer . He was senior president in the Prussian province of Hanover .

Life

Richard Wentzel studied law and received his doctorate in law . jur.

His professional career began in 1878 as a government assistant in Lüneburg. From 1880 to 1881 he was acting district administrator in Neustadt in West Prussia , then from 1882 to 1886 district administrator in Hofgeismar , and from 1886 to 1889 district administrator in Marburg .

In 1889 he was appointed to the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture , and there from 1890 lecturer council and 1895 secret upper government council .

From 1895 to 1898 Wentzel was district president in Koblenz and from 1898 to 1902 district president in Wiesbaden .

In the years 1902 to 1914 Richard Wentzel was President of the Prussian Province of Hanover .

He was awarded the title of nobility "von" in 1907.

family

Richard Wentzel married Elisabeth Jachmann in 1885, a niece of the composer Richard Wagner .
