Gesche Piening
Gesche Piening (* 1978 in Hamburg ) is a German actress and director .
Life
The daughter of the sculptor and object artist Peter F. Piening grew up in Schleswig-Holstein. From 1990 Gesche Piening attended the Stormarn School in Ahrensburg. As a student, she completed her first internships at the Altona Theater and Thalia Theater in Hamburg .
After graduating from high school (1998), she studied at the Otto Falckenberg School - Technical Academy for Performing Arts in Munich (graduated in 2003). Since then, as an actress, director and author, Gesche Piening has mainly produced her own theater and radio plays, readings and performances. She has received numerous awards for her artistic work, including the Ödön von Horváth Prize in 2016, the Kinderothilfe media prize in 2018 and the media prize from the professional association of paediatricians.
She has been producing regularly in Munich since 2004. Her productions and acting projects have been invited to various guest performances, such as the Festival 150 Percent Hamburg on Kampnagel , the Hamburger Kammerspiele , Junge Theater Göttingen , Literaturhaus Vienna, Technoseum Mannheim , Zimmertheater Tübingen , Kunsthalle Bayreuth and others
In addition to her work as an actress and director, Gesche Piening works as a speaker (radio plays, audio books) and as a lecturer for artistic speech training and role studies.
