Ghana Premier League 2018
The Ghana Premier League 2018 (according to the sponsorship agreement officially Zylofon Cash Premier League ) started on March 17th with the game of Inter Allies FC against Bechem United FC (3-0) and was canceled in early June 2018 after the 15th matchday. As a result of the investigative documentary Number 12: When Greed and Corruption Become the Norm by Anas Aremeyaw Anas , which was broadcast on June 6, 2018, all football activities in Ghana had been suspended during the current season. Contrary to media reports to the contrary, the Ghana Football Association(GFA) not dissolved, instead the world football association FIFA set up a "Normalization Committee" at the end of August 2018.
Participating teams
In addition to the thirteen best teams of the preseason , the newly promoted Eleven Wonders FC (Zone 1), Karela United FC (Zone 2) and Dreams FC (Zone 3) took part in the 2018 season.
statistics
It was planned that the winner of the double-round tournament would qualify for the CAF Champions League 2018/19 and the three teams with the lowest number of points would be relegated to Division One League at the end of the season . The relegation was suspended due to the cessation of game operations halfway through all game days. The MEDEAMA SC However, leaders at the time of the season leaving, applied in October 2018 to participate as Ghanaian representatives in the CAF Champions League, the concern moved a few days later for financial reasons.
