Ghana Premier League 2017

The Ghana Premier League 2017 was the 57th season of the highest Ghanaian league in men's football . It began on February 12th and ended on October 22nd, 2017. On the penultimate matchday, Aduana Stars FC won the championship for the second time since 2010 .

Participating teams

In addition to the thirteen best teams of the preseason , the promoted Bolga All Stars FC (Zone 1), Elmina Sharks FC (Zone 2) and Great Olympics FC (Zone 3) should take part in the 2017 season. After a decision by the International Court of Justice (CAS) in November 2016, Dreams FC had to relegate due to the use of the ineligible Cudjoe Mensah in the 2015 season , the direct competitor Tema Youth FC was awarded the starting place for the 2017 season.

The season was played as a double round tournament, the Aduana Stars FC qualified as champions for the CAF Champions League 2018 . The three teams with the lowest number of points at the end of the season - Tema Youth FC , Great Olympics FC and Bolga All Stars FC - were relegated to the second-rate Division One League . The direct comparison served as a placement criterion in the event of a tie .
