Giorgio Alverà
Giorgio Alverà (born August 7, 1943 in Belluno , † January 14, 2013 in Milan ) was an Italian bobsleigh pilot . His greatest success was winning the world title at the Bobsleigh World Cup in 1975 in Cervinia in the two-man bobsleigh (together with Franco Perruquet ). He was three-time Italian champion in two-man bobsleigh and two-time Italian champion in four-man bobsleigh. As an Olympian in 1976 , he took 8th place in the two-man bobsleigh in Innsbruck .
Alverà finds his final resting place in Cortina d'Ampezzo .
