The Gmina Ścinawa [ ɕt͡ɕi'nava ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Lubiński of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is in the town of the same name (German Steinau an der Oder ) with 5712 inhabitants (2016).

The city is located in Lower Silesia on the left bank of the Oder at the mouth of the river Żimnica (Cold Brook) , 35 kilometers northeast of Legnica (Liegnitz) and 16 km northwest of Wołów (Wohlau) . The area of ​​the rural community is 151 km².

history

In 1975 the municipality belonged to the Wroclaw Voivodeship , then until 1998 to the Legnica Voivodeship .
