The Gmina Drezdenko is an urban and rural municipality in the powiat Strzelecko-Drezdenecki in the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city ​​of the same name ( German Driesen ) with about 10,100 inhabitants.

geography

The municipality is located in the northeast of the voivodeship in the historic Neumark on a wedge between the Alte and the Lazy Netze ( Polish Noteć). It borders the Greater Poland Voivodeship in the east and has an area of ​​almost 400 km². Two thirds of the municipal area are forests. The town of Gorzów Wielkopolski (Landsberg an der Warthe) is 20 kilometers to the west.

history

The community was founded in 1976. Previously existed in addition to the municipality, the rural communities Nowe Drezdenko (1946-1954) and Drezdenko (1945-1946, 1973-1976). The municipality belonged to the Poznan Voivodeship from 1946 to 1950 , then to the Zielona Góra Voivodeship until 1975 and to the Gorzów Voivodeship until the end of 1998 .

traffic

Long-distance trains stop at Nowe Drezdenko station on the Kostrzyn – Piła railway line , to the east of which is the Stare Bielice stop. This is where the Stare Bielice – Skwierzyna railway branched off with Drezdenko station.
