The Gmina Krosno Odrzańskie [ ˈkrɔsnɔ ɔˈʤaɲskʲɛ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Krośnieński of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the district town of the same name ( German Crossen an der Oder ) with around 11,300 inhabitants.
Geographical location
The community is about 10 to 15 kilometers east of the German border. The Oder runs through its area from east to west. Its tributary Bober flows west of the city.
history
Until the early 18th century, some residents of the villages around Crossen still spoke an East Lower Sorbian dialect .
