The Gmina Płośnica [ pwɔɕˈɲitsa ] is a rural community in the powiat Działdowski of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . Your seat is the village of the same name ( German Heinrichsdorf ) with about 1000 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the southwest of the voivodeship and borders on the Masovian Voivodeship in the south . Until 1920 their area was in East Prussia and bordered on West Prussia . The district town of Działdowo (Soldau) is about four kilometers to the east. Neighboring municipalities are Lidzbark in the west, Rybno in the north, Działdowo in the east and in the Masovian Voivodeship Kuczbork-Osada .
There are two small lakes in the area near Zalesie. The most important flowing water is the Działdówka, a part of the Wkra . The community has an area of 163 km², 73 percent of which is used for agriculture and 18 percent for forestry.
history
The municipality has belonged to Poland since 1920. The rural community was re-established in 1973 after its territory was divided into Gromadas from 1954 to 1972 . From 1945 to 1950 its area belonged to the Warsaw Voivodeship , from 1950 to 1975 it was part of the Olsztyn Voivodeship and then until 1998 to the Ciechanów Voivodeship . On January 1, 1999, the community came back to the powiat Działdowski and the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship, which was newly formed and roughly corresponds to the Polish part of the former province of East Prussia .

The hamlet of Mały Łęck near the village of the same name also belongs to the municipality .
traffic
The voivodship road DW544 runs through the community from west to east. It leads from Brodnica (Strasburg an der Drewenz) to Działdowo (Soldau) and Ostrołęka (Ostrolenka) .
The nearest international airport is Warsaw .
The Gralewo stop (former Gralewo / Grallau station ) on the Warsaw – Gdansk railway line is in the neighboring municipality of Rybno . A train connection to the community itself has not existed since 2013. The Płośnica station on the Działdowo – Chojnice railway line was closed in 2014.
