The Gmina Skwierzyna [ skfjɛˈʒɨna ] is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Międzyrzecki of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city ​​of the same name ( German Schwerin an der Warthe ) with 9,671 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).

The municipality is located in the east of the Voivodeship, where it borders on the Greater Poland Voivodeship . The most important bodies of water are the Warta and Obra . The city of Gorzów Wielkopolski (Landsberg an der Warthe) , seat of the voivode, is 15 kilometers away.

The main traffic connection is the S3 expressway , which connects the voivodeship capitals Gorzów Wielkopolski in the north and Zielona Góra (Grünberg) in the south.
