The Gmina Tolkmicko [ tɔlkˈmitskɔ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Elbląski of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Tolkemit ) with about 2700 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the northwest of the voivodeship and borders the Pomeranian Voivodeship . Neighboring municipalities are the towns of Elbląg and Krynica Morska and the rural municipalities of Elbląg , Frombork , Milejewo , Młynary and Sztutowo .
The community has an area of 225.3 km², 20 percent of which is used for agriculture and 25 percent for forestry. About half of their area is water and belongs to the Fresh Lagoon .
history
After a dissolution in Gromadas , the rural community was formed again in 1973. Urban and rural communities were merged to form urban and rural communities in 1990/1991. Their area belonged to the Gdansk Voivodeship from 1945 to 1975 and then to the Elbląg Voivodeship until 1998 , the powiat was dissolved during this time.
On January 1, 1999, the community came to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and again to the Powiat Elbląski.
