The Gmina Młynary [ mwɨˈnarɨ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Elbląski of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Mühlhausen i. Ostpr. ) With about 1770 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the northwest of the voivodeship. The seat of the Powiat, the independent city of Elbląg (Elbing) is ten kilometers to the west. Neighboring municipalities are the municipalities of Tolkmicko in the northwest, Frombork in the north, Płoskinia in the northeast, Wilczęta in the east, Pasłęk in the south and Milejewo in the west.
The community has an area of 157.1 km², 54 percent of which is used for agriculture and 37 percent for forestry. The river Bauda (Cottage) is the most important water bodies of the area. Młynary is the northernmost city of the East Prussian Oberland ( Prusy Górne in Polish ).
history
The rural community was formed again in 1973 from various gromadas . Urban and rural communities were merged to form urban and rural communities in 1990/1991. Their area belonged to the Olsztyn Voivodeship from 1946 to 1975 and then to the Elbląg Voivodeship until 1998 , the Powiat Pasłęcki was dissolved in 1975. On January 1, 1999, the municipality came to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship and the expanded Powiat Elbląski.

traffic
The most important road is the expressway S22 ( European route 28 ) from Elbląg (Elbing) to the border crossing Mamonowo II - Grzechotki (Heiligenbeil – Rehfeld) and on to Kaliningrad (Königsberg) . In Młynary the voivodeship roads DW505 ( Frombork / (Frauenburg) - Pasłęk / (Prussian Holland) ) and DW509 (Elbląg– Orneta / (Wormditt) ) cross.
Passenger traffic on the Malbork – Braniewo railway with the Stegny stop was discontinued in 2004.
The nearest international airport is Gdansk .
