Greit is a hamlet of the Bad Grönenbach Kneipp spa in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria .

The hamlet is located in Upper Swabia in the Danube-Iller region, about three kilometers southwest of Bad Grönenbach, at an altitude of 755  m above sea level. NN . Greit is bordered by the hamlet of Manneberg in the west and the village of Herbisried in the east . Immediately south of Greit is the district boundary between Unterallgäu and Oberallgäu , and directly behind the district boundary there is another hamlet with the same name.

geology

The subsoil of Greit was formed in the Rift Ice Age and consists of an old moraine with terminal moraine lines. The ground in this area consists of gravel and sand , and partly a conglomerate .

history

Greit was first mentioned in 1512 in the land register of the Grönenbach / Rothenstein rule.
